Your donations mean we can continue to offer this Award for another year, so honouring Bill Cashmore, and ensuring that great art by new, fresh voices will get seen and heard. This is art that might otherwise never make it to the stage, massively boosting these young people’s chances of getting a rung higher on the intensely competitive theatrical career ladder and providing us with important insight into worlds and lives not our own.
Alfiah Brown, winner of the 2020 competition, will finally get to stage her winning play, Pic N Mix, on the Lyric stage in March 2022, thanks to your generous pre-Covid donations. I know it is so much harder to find spare cash nowadays, but with your financial help for the coming year, we can now also start to think about starting the search for 2022’s hopeful winner.
All royalties from Languages of Loss will go towards funding The Bill Cashmore Award and I also pledge to match every donation made by each of you, so that this Award can hopefully continue for many years to come. We need the theatre now more than ever, and it needs us. So please do donate if you can. Here’s how:
By bank transfer to The Lyric Hammersmith:
Sort code 20 06 05, account 50557714 referencing the Bill Cashmore Award.
Please also contact Amo Ofori-Darko at either Ama.Ofori-Darko@lyric.co.uk or on 020 8741 6822 ext 41 to let her know to expect the payment and attribute it to the Award.
Or just ring Ama directly and make the payment over the phone by Debit or Credit Card (please note the Lyric do not accept Amex).
And please sign up for my newsletter (sent once, occasionally twice a year, max) so you can stay informed with how the Award is progressing and be the first to hear of how to book for Pic N Mix when we finally get to stage it.
